From the car park head back down towards the road and turn left back into Fort William. By doing this circular trail this way round, you can get all the road riding out the way at the beginning!
At the mini roundabout by the Woolen Mill go straight on and follow North Road into Fort William. Once you have passed the Leisure Centre take a left just after the Craig Nevis Doctors surgery, and bear left as the road climbs steeply up a hill. The road will level out and you will get a good view over Loch Linnhe as you cycle past the park on the right hand side. At the next junction go straight on into Argyll Road, this will turn into Argyll Terrace when, I'm afraid, you will be turning left up the hill.
Cycle up the hill until just after the houses finish there is a gate on your left leading up a track sided by trees. If you reach a layby and lookout point on the road you have gone too far.
Once on the track it's more uphill, heading up the side of Cow Hill. Once you reach the junction signposted by cows heads, carry straight on towards the top of Cow Hill past a gate. This is a slight detour but is worth it for the great view over Fort William and the villages of Caol and Corpach.
After catching your breath turn around and head back as far as the junction in the track. This time turn left down the other side of the hill. There is a new cycle path down this side of the hill which will certainly get the adrenaline flowing!! The track will bring you back into Glen Nevis, where you can follow the track going left back to the Braveheart Car park.
A version of the circuit is also described with a map on one of the interpretation panels outside Fort William Tourist Information Centre on the High Street.
